Tapestry Dance Studio Presents: A Precious Present 23

In December 2023, I was asked to return to Three performances of Tapestry Dance Company’s “The Precious Present”, directed by Acia Gray with production design by Stephen Pruitt,at the Austin Ventures Theater. Like last year, the performance was a series of Vignettes along the theme of “Listening” expressed in a variety of styles by a wonderful and eclectic group of performers. I drew furiously during each performance to catch something special about each performance, and during the musical segues between them I switched my iPad to the screen and projected the visual timelapse of each drawing as it was created, creating a “Visual Jazz” performance in its own right.
